No. They do have an oyster on the half shell special, though.
They do have some draft not a big selection
Excellent service
No they don't. Believe it was all seafood
That is a marvelous oyster place! I ate 2 dozen raw oysters. And cold boiled shrimp. It was groovey!
EXPENSIVE little grocery store. But.... with that said they do have some seafood you can't by at your local grocer. The food is good, service not so much. Serving size is good as well. and by the way their french fries are delicious. We will go back eventually.
Great food... especially for the price!! Wonderful waiters and parking was easy!!! What else could you ask for???!!!
Good food, excellent service and good prices.
Definately a staple of Port Isabel. Great seafood made to order and raw selection to buy and take home. Good beer and great waiter. Definately recommend.
Last year I would have given them a 5 star rating. The quality of the food seems to have gone down this year. The breading on the shrimp was somewhat under cooked. Some of the fried oysters had a strong fishy taste made me wonder if they were old also with some of the shrimp. Also the Joey says it comes with a crab cake and what we received I believe was a stuffed crab shell like you would get at a Chinese buffet.
Always love young here after going to the beach. Guess the beach makes me hungry. Got one pound of fried shrimp, and a side of coleslaw. Made me one happy guy. Friendly people running the place. Always great food.
They served fresh 2.5lb grilled red snapper and homemade ceviche. Great experience to me. Very kind staff as well.
I love the fried oysters, fried red snapper, fried shrimp, crab cakes, everything is good. Call for daily special. Dozen prepared oysters were delicious too.
We were in South Padre Island for a month for vacation. Ate here 2-3 times per week. Just awesome.
This place is great, love their food, best of all the fried oysters. Well Today the raw oysters were to refrigerated. But over all evething good. Good service, clean place and fair price.
I purchased Black Drum & Red Snapper which was awesome. Staff were very friendly & helpful. I then ordered a plate of fried Black Drum which was worth the trip from Harlingen to get. So you can eat then order your fresh seafood to take home for later.
A reasonably priced place for good but not great seafood. The oysters we're good but some where small pieces. The fish and shrimp were good but not great but as I said, very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is like a South Texas Mexican /Seafood restaurant. Very relaxed and causal and they had a Mariachi band on Saturday afternoon. Good service.
Hands down, best place for seafood. They even have a fish market inside, so you can take fresh fish home if you don't catch anything on the island. Oysters, shrimp, crab, snapper, flounder ceviche, they have everything!
Hidden behind the main road but once found, it's a great place to eat.
Great service and good food for great prices.
Great food, cold drinks, great to stop by on your way to the island or heading back home. The whole staff is attentive to your needs. You can also purchase fresh seafood.
Gotta love Joe's. I almost don't want to write a good review because I want to keep this gem to myself, but it is well earned.
Amazing! This is hands down the best and freshest fish place we have found! A must visit. Paper plates...who cares when you can have fresh seafood and sides that don't taste like old oil like some of the other big chain restaurants! When you first walk in, you can see the little store and even the cooking area as well as the fish on ice! Turn the corner, and you have seating. They share the story of their 40-plus years of business in the area and how this little hole-in-the-wall has grown to be a local favorite! We see why and would highly recommend that you stop here! We ordered the Nathan special, fried calamari, and Joe's Deluxe! The portions were right on target and a decent price point for what you're getting. Super friendly and family-owned place
I've never had something so bad. I ordered grilled fish platter with the 4 shrimp and 4 oysters. I wanted to try a variety of seafood. My plate came with only 3 shrimp. The fish was flavorless. They told me it was flounder. The oysters I expected to be raw but they were grilled as well....they tasted like dirt! I will NEVER go again or recommend them.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Food is delicious and freshly made. Can't go wrong with the Joey's Deluxe Seafood platter. Highly recommended.
Delicious seafood. Rich and flavoured. Average prices.
This place is great. The food is very delicious and tasty. Service is very fast. Staff are very respectful and friendly. We were group of ten, and our food was ready within 15 minutes of ordering it. Will come back sure, highly recommended. The only concern that they are short on restrooms, and when you are waiting for you turn, it is like actually you are standing in the middle of the place. Very clean and lovely atmosphere.
Joes Oyster Bar restaurant is one of, if not the best place to eat sea food , so fresh so good! I recommend it very highly. I Travel all the way from Austin just to go eat there.😋
Delicious sea food, good price, good service! Hidden gem in Port Isabel! Joe Castillo owner. Just tell Joe Joaquin sent you!
Great food, great prices and awesome service
Huge portions. Fair prices. Fresh, perfectly prepared seafood. Joe's is the real deal.
When you walk through an old convenience store, now fish counter, to get to your table, you just know it's gonna be fire!! This place did not disappoint. Seafood as good as anywhere in Port Isabel and SPI and the experience will not be forgotten.
Fantastic seafood. Haven't had seafood this good in a long while. Wasn't a fan of the fries but got full on everything else. Can't wait to go again.
We have eaten there many times over the last nine years and have never had a bad meal. Always excellent. This is not a white tablecloth so don't expect it. It is a casual dining place with excellent fresh seafood. You simply cannot beat the crab fingers!
Fresh oysters all the time. Our favorite spot when we come down here. The seafood always fresh
first time back since 19 we drove to Port -Isabel to eat at Joe's Oyster and it was delicious! Worth the drive -- It is still rustic and all the employees on the floor helping guests wore masks and gloves -- of course gloves are only good if they are changed often - Not sure about that-- Sanitizer setting out - Shrimp were perfect! 50% Capacity and you can pull up order out front and take it with you! Well done and organize!
Amazing fish spot. We ate here on a whim because of the good reviews and it was our favorite meal of the trip. The food was great and it was very clean. Don't forget to bring your masks because you need them to be seated.
First time here and went based solely on Google reviews... I was not disappointed! This was a great place with a laid back atmosphere and fantastic food. I ordered the grilled basket based on the waiters recommendation and was thrilled with my meal. The fish was very good and the shrimp tasted like they were caught that morning. The crab cake was tasty and even the fries were crispy and good. Add the coleslaw and dinner roll and I was a very satisfied patron. I would definitely recommend going here to enjoy a meal!
Great food, service, drinks, fair price recommend to all sea food lover's 👍
Stopped for lunch while attending a conference at the island on Thursday. The place was not crowded, the wait staff were very curtious and attentive. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious. I ordered a fish (flounder) and shrimp plate. It was very reasonably priced. We also ordered ceviche which was very good.
Sometimes in life, you have to treat yourself to some fresh and delicious seafood and this place will satisfy your cravings. The stuffed crab and ceviche are my go-to and are delicious. The crab fingers are a delightful appetizer as well as the stuffed jalapeños. The customer service is solid and always attentive. There is also a small market in here. I highly recommend this place. Enjoy!
I got the Nathan which isn't on the menu and it was delicious. The seafood is fresh and the service was amazing. The servers were friendly despite having to wear a mask. The cleaniness was obvious. My overall experience was exceptional! I wish we came here on our first day of vacation.
I found this place on Yelp when I first visited South Padre Island. During the first visit, I tried the Mexican style shrimp cocktail, a dozen of oysters, and the Joe's combination plate that included fried fish, oysters, shrimps, etc. The oyster and shrimp cocktail were really really fresh and delicious. During the second visit, I ordered the whole red snapper, half fried and half grilled. After ordering, the waiter asked me to come choose the fish I wanted. It was the best one I had in a while. The fish was super fresh, cooked perfectly, and had a good portion for 2 people. It was based on the market price and mine was about $35. Also ordered the cocktail oysters which is my favorite at this place. Great place for fresh seafoods!!!
Do yourself a favor and stop by when you are in the mood for some good seafood. Here the food is made with tlc. All their seafood is extremely fresh. The tea is outstanding. It is very rare when a restaurant has good food and tea to go along with your food. Joe's Oyster Bar is the exception. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is home like. Joe's Oyster Bar will be our go to seafood restaurant whenever we are in the neighborhood.
Another great experience. Food was awesome. Staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend
